Rakhi Story

Tracing the Roots of Rakhi: From Myth to Tradition

Krishna and Draupadi: The Eternal Promise

According to this story, when Lord Krishna killed Sisupala with Sudarshana Chakra, his finger was cut, due to which blood started flowing. Seeing that, Draupadi tore the pallu from her saree and tied it to Lord Krishna's finger. It was at that moment that Lord Krishna accepted Draupadi as his sister and promised to protect her for the rest of his life. Lord Krishna told Draupadi that she could remember him whenever she faced difficulties.

Krishna's Eternal Promise: The Tale of Draupadi's Unending Saree

In return, Krishna promised to help her out when required. That is the story behind the help Krishna provides during the unceremonious disrobing of Draupadi, Krishna came and made her saree never-ending, saving her the embarrassment by giving her protection when she needed it the most.

Know More About Rakhi

Rakhi, or Raksha Bandhan, is a Hindu festival celebrating the bond between brothers and sisters. Sisters tie a rakhi around their brothers' wrists, and brothers promise to protect their sisters.

Rakhi is celebrated on the full moon day of the Hindu month of Shravana, usually in August.

Rakhi symbolizes love, care, and protection between siblings.

Rakhis range from simple threads to elaborate designs with beads, stones, and eco-friendly materials.

"Om" is a sacred sound and symbol in Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism, representing the universe's ultimate reality and consciousness.

Mantras start with "Om" because it is the primordial sound of the universe, symbolizing ultimate reality and consciousness, and it prepares the mind for meditation and prayer.
